The article addresses the issue of protection of the archaeological heritage of Wiślica in the context of the conflict of the sacred, treated as relics of the past, not only “sacred” in the religious sense, but also representing unique historic values and the profane that invades this protected area, desacralizing it through mass availability using commercial means, multimedia, or modern technology. However, saving monuments involves sustainable programming of interventions that allow for the protection of priceless relics, but at the same time enable public access to our common heritage. The concept behind the Archa eological Museum in Wiślica is the implementation of the idea of allowing contemplation of the sacred supported by means belonging to the profane zone.
