Summary: In the article the relationship between the Polish population and the Soviet power in Stanislav region in 1944-1946 has been investigated. The activity of the local Polish underground and the attitude of the Bolsheviks towards it have been characterized. The resistance of the Poles to repatriation to their historical homeland has been highlighted. The forms of cooperation between the Polish population and the Soviet power (service in destruction battalions, work in the administration and denunciation) have been demonstrated. The reasons for this behavior have been analyzed. The thesis that the cooperation of the Poles with the Bolsheviks aggravated the Polish-Ukrainian relations in the region has been substantiated. It has been argued that the relationship between the Polish population and the Soviet power was contradictory.
