Summary: Documents stored in the archive of the Museum of Opole Silesia made it possible to reconstruct, to alarge extent, ahoard found in Gorzów Śląski in 1896 or 1897 (tpq 1431). Although the Royal Numismatic Collection in Berlin was consulted about the hoard, the latter was not studied and found its way to literature only in afragmentary form. Its main components– 466 Prague groschen, mainly or exclusively of Wenceslas IV, and seven Hungarian florins of King Sigismund - are typical and reflect the circulation and hoarding of coinage in Silesia in that era. What makes the hoard exceptional is the ducato of Maona di Chio, showing the title of Milanese Duke Philip Maria Visconti. The author considers it possible that this coin was brought from Moldavia. Gorzów Śląski was located on one of the alternative routes connecting Leopol with Wrocław, bypassing Cracow.
