Summary: The Dominican vocation required the monks to be mobile and to have a good preaching preparation. It covered both the spiritual and intellectual spheres, as well as the ability to function in the outside world, not always favorable attitude towards the representative of the mendicant order. The functioning of a monk in the Dominican Order was based not only on constant presence in the convent. An adept joining the Dominican Order had to have: awareness of the necessity of constant wandering for preaching purposes. He should too agree with the will of superiors who transferred brothers, e.g. those who specialized in certain areas ministries, but probably also for other reasons, such as sending a monk with a large experience to a solid new community. It was a common reason for moving the need to increase the number of the convent, which lacked the required twelve monks, which was caused by natural disasters, mainly epidemics, and also the dying of brothers and the lack of novices. However, monks were mainly sent to study in other convents, where there were particular schools and general studies. They were sent to study abroad, a after their return, they were sent as lectors, cursors, and novice masters to subsequent houses religious. Preparation in the novitiate must have shaped the monk to a greater degree independence and self‑discipline and teach him how to function both in organized monastery and the dynamically changing secular world.
